Welcome to Oakmore

The residents in this neighborhood above Dimond Park once took the Key Route to work in downtown Oakland and San Francisco. Built in the 1920s and 30s, Oakmore Highlands is one of the earliest “residential parks” developed in Oakland. Architectural styles include the large, stately homes along the winding streets of upper Oakmore. These hillside homes influenced by Mediterranean and Spanish heritage offer gracious terraced gardens, impressive views of the bay, and dramatic sunsets over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Picturesque and prized, Oakmore is served by a small central shopping district, but most residents will walk to the Glenview shopping area or drive to Montclair. The Dimond Recreation Center, Dimond Canyon Park, and the city-owned Montclair Golf Course border Oakmore, providing a sense of park-like open space.
