Orinda Books in Village Square offers a vibrant reading series, featuring local poets, and literary notables. At the center of Orinda's nightlife is the revitalized Theater Square, anchored by the Art Deco Orinda Theater. Recently renovated, the Orinda Theater is a great place to see the newest releases. In addition to first-run films, the theater presents comedy nights and performances of live theater. The California Shakespeare Festival, located in Orinda's Bruns Amphitheater in the hills above town, presents live theater in a gorgeous outdoor setting of rolling grasslands.
